๐Ÿ’” resources for LA

Hi Reader!

To everyone in the Los Angeles area, my heart goes out to you! As I write this, the fires are still going and more evacuations have been ordered. While I am not in LA, I have many friends who are, and it has been a very hard week for many people.

If you're in LA and need help, here are some resources:

If you're not in LA, here are some ways you can help or donate:

Resources are regularly being updated, especially as circumstances change, so check back as needed. Remember to always do your own research before donating or becoming involved with organizations - unfortunately, some scams have already been popping up along with price gouging, so do your best to avoid them and report them as needed.

I'm keeping it short this week, and only sharing what I'm loving this week in case people need a distraction. Stay safe everyone!

๐Ÿ’œ what I'm loving

โ€‹

๐ŸŽž๏ธ Lick on Passionflix. This movie based on Kylie Scott's rockstar romance was really good (though the romance was a little rushed). I hope they make the other books in the series.

๐Ÿ“บ Miss Scarlett S5 on PBS. I watched the entire season early on PBS Passport in the US. I was a little nervous about this one and how they would handle "the Duke" leaving, but I loved it! I'm a Blake/Eliza shipper all the way now (I love a man full of green flags and, let's be honest, the Duke was never a good match for Eliza and never respected her desires anyway). I hope it gets another season.

๐Ÿ“บ Virgin River S6 on Netflix. tbh, I wasn't that into the various plots this season (and I think episode 1 was all reshoots because it looked really weird, though the other episodes were fine), but I loved seeing Mel and Jack get their HEA. There is another season planned, which I will watch once it eventually comes out.

That's it for now. Until next time!

Hi Reader! So much is happening this week! One big thing on my to-do list this week is to finalize Crowned! The next book in the Royals series (releasing in October) has come back from the last pass with an editor. So now I'm doing final revisions, and getting all the covers and ebooks and print versions ready. Fingers crossed that this time next week the book will be DONE (and then I can start sharing snippets and all the fun things). Of course, all the things are happening while I'm still...

Hi Reader! So remember last week when I said I was sick with something that wasn't the dreaded 'c' word - covid? Apparently it did turn out to be covid after all ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. I was 'novid' for so long (no covid) and now I've gotten it for the first time. I tested negative for a long time before I finally got a positive result from the doctor, but now I'm on meds and slowly starting to feel better. So, today I'm dealing with covid, a chronic illness flareup, and a migraine, but I know healthier days are...
